Home hunting!

Wow! It's overwhelming hunting for a house. It's our first purchase and we have a limited budget but there is a lot of choice! I'm not one that is stopped by the current owner's design choices, like pink carpet in the bedrooms or bright orange walls in the bathroom! (yeah I actually saw that in the same house) And I know that with our budget we will have to sacrifice on either style or location and size and that's fine with me because I love home design and I'm pretty handy with the power tools! My dad was happy to have me help when he was redoing the basement or tending to something in the house and I loved that time spent with him and learning all sorts of stuff.

But! really people when you are about to sell your home, please make sure that the pink and blue flower wallpaper is removed or that the old smelly green shag carpet in the basement is replaced, because that will make me offer you a lot less money for your home! Haven't you seen all the design shows on TV telling you this?

I found 10 home to visit this week and we should be lucky and find "THE ONE" in that bunch. I'm exited at the idea of decorating a new place because since our move to Ottawa I haven't put any effort in this rental, since I knew we were moving in less then a year! But that is so not like me, I need color on the walls and photos and paintings! But I have not even hung the family pictures! Sad, I know!
